PARKS
Region of habitat and biodiversity, Abruzzo witnesses, with its reality and its environmental choises, how it is possible to make an astonishing nature and the man live together.
It has three National parks: the well known Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise's Park, created in 1923, the more recent Gran Sasso-Laga and Majella Parks; the Sirente - Velino Regional Park; more than 30 nature reserves; thanks to all these elements the region is considered the green heart of Europe, with a third of its territory under environmental protection.
In these enchanting landscapes lives a wide variety of rare species, like the Apennine Wolf, the Marsican Bear, the Chamois, the Golden Eagle.
